Ans: The astrologer ran away from his native place to the city as he thought he had attempt a murder. So he has changed his appearance and persona to hide his identity and not to be arrested.

But still he felt guilty about his crime. Suddenly, one day he came to know that the man whom he had stabbed is alive.This is the day which the writer mentioned in this story. On this day he felt himself free from his inside burden. That is why the title has its own significance.
vii) The astrologer feels relieved that Guru is not dead as it relieves a great
Burden from him. Critically justify the statement and explain it
Ans: The astrologer was the person who attempted to kill guru unintentionally. He ran away from his home. He tried to hide his identity. But still somewhere deep inside, he felt guilty about it. When he came to know that the man ‘Guru Nayak’ is alive then he felt relieved as the burden of guiltiness disappeared.
viii) Astrologer wins/gets the sympathy of criticism of the reader in the end. Express your opinion with the support of the main story.
Ans: Yes, of course astrologer wins the sympathy of readers and mine also. Because firstly, what the astrologer had done in the past, just happened by mistake. He didn’t have any intention to kill Guru. Secondly his words “Do you know a great load is gone from me today? I thought I had the blood of a man on my hands all these years.” shows us that he feels guilty about his crime.
ix) If we have to eradicate the superstitions and other ill practices from Our society, what steps would you like to suggest?
Ans: We have to take certain steps to eradicate the superstitions and other ill practices from Our society. I would like to suggest some steps as follows;
- We have to literate the people.
- We have to expose the truth behind the superstitions.
- We have to develop a scientific attitude among the people.
- We have to encourage people to think logically rather than following these superstitions blindly.
x) In the story, astrologer has a great listening power. Listening helps in developing good relations with people. Express your opinion.
Ans: Yes. Listening is a skill which helps in developing good relations with people. Listening others calmly and carefully helps to understand their feelings and analyse human behaviour. It shows our respect towards the person and his thought. As in case of astrologer, he listen people carefully so that he was able to please them and make a good relationship with his clients
